چکیده
نحوۀ مناسبات علم و دین همواره از جملة پرسش‌های مهم قرون گذشته بوده و پاسخ‌های متفاوتی نیز به آن داده شده است. در این تحقیق تلاش می شود تا نشان دهد که، به‌رغم پیشرفت‌های خیره‌کنندۀ علم و نقش فزایندۀ آن در حیات بشری، نسبت طولی، و نه عرضی دین و علم و منشأ الهی و وحیانی دین باعث شده است که دین همواره از جمله نیازهای اساسی بشر باشد، و این دین بوده که پرسش‌های بنیادین انسان را پاسخ گفته است؛ لذا نمی‌توان اندیشۀ محدودیت قلمرو و کارکردهای دین را معقول و قابل دفاع دانست. البته، وجود برخی تشابهات در ویژگی‌های علم و دین باعث شده است که همکاری آن دو بیش‌تر باشد، اما این امر بدان معنی نیست که یکی جای دیگری را بگیرد. در این‌ باره می‌توان به برخی شباهت‌ها در تجربه، تبیین، عینیت، مدل‌ها، و پارادایم‌های آن دو اشاره کرد؛ در عین حال که هریک کارکرد خاص خود را دارد و این کارکرد از دیگری ساخته نیست. در این زمینه می‌توان به نقش بنیادین دین در تأمین مبانی اساسی علم و شکل‌دهی به نظریه‌ها و قوانین علم و نیز نقش پیشرفت‌های علمی در تبیین بیش‌‌تر باورهای دینی نگاه کرد.

Realm and Functions of Religion in Comparison to Science

The way of relations between science and religion was of important questions which has received different answers in past centuries. In this paper, it is tried to argue that albeit of great developments of science and its extensive role in human’s life, humankind needing to religion was of his/ her fundamental requirements, and this is religion that can answer human’s fundamental questions, then there is no rational justification for view pints about limitations of religion. Of course there are similarities between science and religion that can make possible their more cooperation which some of them are in experience, explanation, objectivity, models and paradigms of religion and science. Meantime, each religion and science has their special function. In this aspect, we can show some roles of religion in science including its role in taking presuppositions of science, and forming theories and laws of science. Scientific developments, also, can help human to better understand and explain religious beliefs.
