Abstract
The transhumanism movement stands as one of the most significant and influential currents of the 21st century, driving the development of cutting-edge future technologies. In its early stages, religion and religious matters were not a primary focus for this movement. However, over time, influenced by scientific and social challenges related to religion and spirituality, there has been a gradual shift in the movement's perspective toward religion and its engagement with this domain. This shift is reflected in the substantial growth of scholarly publications on this topic over the past two decades. The aim of this research is to explore the transhumanist perspective on religion and to provide a forward-looking vision of its role in the future of transhumanism, with the hope of fostering an environment conducive to the international contributions of Iranian Muslim scholars in this field. The findings of the study reveal that transhumanists approach religion and spirituality, much like other domains, through a technological lens. They seek to integrate religious elements with advanced cognitive, biomedical, and other technologies, thereby redefining religion and spirituality within a technological framework grounded in algorithms and data. The results of the research suggest that, despite fundamental challenges and contradictions between transhumanism and Abrahamic religions, establishing platforms for dialogue and collaboration between these two fields is not only possible but also highly significant and essential.
